Testimonials
"AAAAAAAAH YES THE OPTIMIZER. A TRUE GOLD MEDAL ROUGH WATER LURE. ENOUGH CAN'T BE SAID ABOUT THIS LURE. IN ROUGH WATER,CURRENTS,AND HIGH SPEED IT REALLY SHINES. IN FLAT WATER IT'S ON A PARALLEL WITH FISHLANDER, NK, STINGER UNLESS YOU WANT TO COVER A LOT OF WATER IN A SHORT TIME. HAVE RUN IT IN EXCESS OF 6 MPH OVER LAND ON GPS WITH SMALL CHANGE." - Captain Ken DeVey, Sting Ray Charters
"Hello Stan. I have just over 60lbs on your watermelon anchovy bait head. Thanks very much for the dodger as well. FYI I attach dodger directly to down rigger ball with bait head dragging just behind it so your just fighting the fish when they strike. That’s what I love about the wire on your set up as it allows for perfect cripple roll without flasher/dodger on main line. Can’t say enough about your lure... in the past we used anchovies in a conventional holder and often you just couldn’t get the roll right particularly as I prefer the flasher off the downrigger. All the best." - Don Kehler, Northern B.C.
"Hello Trinidad Tackle team, Hi, I just wanted to write to you and submit a photo of my Daughter, Joanne Ryan with her 32lb. Chinook Salmon. As you can see in the picture, she was one proud girl! This fish won 1st prize for the “biggest fish” in our 10th Annual “Jack & Jill fishing Derby”, which was held Sept. 1st & 2nd/2012 at Chatham Point, Vancouver Island, British Columba (near Campbell River). Joanne was fishing the derby with my Husband and myself in our boat using our Yellow Chartreuse anchovy bait head and fishing 147 feet deep! Fishing had been fairly slow that weekend for most of the anglers, except us! We purchased 8 of your anchovy bait heads a few months ago through Cold Water Tackle/Trinidad Tackle online, received them in the mail and have been using them all summer, with great success! This past weekend in the derby we loaded all 3 rods up with your bait heads, catching a 22lb. (Chartreuse), 23lb. (Purple Haze), and Joanne’s 32lb. Chinook (Chartreuse). We were the envy of our competitors, but haven’t given away any info on our secret weapons we used as of yet! We are thrilled with your bait heads and will continue to use them all summer in the coming fishing season! Thanks again for your great product, we are definitely firm believers in your gear! Oh, I forgot to mention that I placed 2nd in the derby with my partner Russ Miller for most accumulated weight!! It was a great weekend in the boat thanks to your anchovy bait heads!" - Beverly Armstrong
"Stan, Thank you for your email. I own a 38 Bertram which I fish commercially as a hand troller in Southeast Alaska. Recently, I purchased a single 24k gold #4 locally and decided on a lark to give it a try during our July 1 king salmon opening. I beefed the spoon up with a commercial hook, Qi Hooks #5. See photo. I was very impressed with the action of the Optimizer, even at my trolling speed of 2 to 2.5 knots. Of the 300 coho I caught, probably 30 were on that spoon alone. It seemed every time I checked gear, the spoon had a fish on it and I would say it outfished the string of Superior #7's I was running with it. After running the spoon as the top spread, I decided to put it on bottom at a depth of 30 fathoms, to see if a king might take it. In fact a big king did hit it but unfortunately broke the hook off, the split ring gave way. I got the spoon back minus the hook or ring. The only suggestion I could make about what I feel is truly a great spoon would be more robust rings. I have since put a heavier ring on it from another hook I had and will head back out fishing the day after tomorrow. Unfortunately, king salmon are now closed to commercial fishing, they only gave us a four day opener, but if you like I can send photos of the spoon with a whole bunch of coho. Lol. As I said above, I truly think the optimizer is a great trolling spoon. Please let me know when the 24k #4's again become available as I would like to order a couple dozen of them and for now, I will look forward to trying the ones from my recent order." - Allan Engstrom
